How the heck are we supposed to navigate all that?
Itâs easy to get caught up in a world of frenzy these days. So many opinions, so many fears being shoved down our throats, new rules and regulations to abide by and so many folks telling us what we âneedâ to feel successful, fulfilled, happy and safe. How the heck are we supposed to navigate all that?
I donât know about you, but as hard as I try to avoid it, I find myself being corralled by time, money and a never ending list of things I âneedâ to do. I want to jump that corral fence, but only after I throw in one more load of laundry, answer all 15 emails sitting in 4 inboxes, check my bank account to be sure the automatic payments will be covered tomorrow, make an attempt to strategize next monthâs marketing plan, learn a new piece of technology that frustrates me to no end, and that revolving list just goes on and on. No matter how successful things may look on the outside, it just doesnât always feel like it on the inside.
Then, I remember to pull my head out of the swirling chaotic mess that I once again let myself slip into. I hear the faint calling from my own Soul reminding me of the journey it wants to guide me on. Afterall, we are souls taking up temporary residence in these mere human skins in order to learn something on this earth walk and not the other way around. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust will be here soon enough, but the journey of our soul remains.
This is why I love ritual, ceremony, following the movement of seasons, stars, and moon, honoring sacred holidays, and connecting with nature and animals. Each provides a gentle reminder and pathway to get out of my head and connect with my soul, my north star. Each time itâs like finding the compass I thought I lost. Take a dang breath, Kim!
Yesterday, I found myself feeling lost in that chaos. There were so many things I thought I needed to be thinking about and needed to be taken care of or fretted over and I couldnât solve them all at once, and I let it all turbulate a little too long. Craziness!
Fortunately, I remembered that big, beautiful, full, harvest moon would be rising over the hills to the east after dark. Full moons are one consistent thing I depend on to remind me to take that deep breath, create a little ceremony and come back to my true self. Even if my ceremony is brief, I always come away feeling more balanced, clear, and able to manage.
I didnât spend a lot of time in my ceremony last night, but I did create a very big intention. As always, I burned some sage and palo santo to clear and purify the space. The familiar earthy smell of sage and sweet palo santo immediately filtered into my nervous system allowing me to move out of that sympathetic fight or flight mode and tune inward.
I set my Mesa (a sacred bundle of stones, each representing a piece of my spiritual growth) out in the night air to absorb the full moon light and said a prayer. I asked for inspiration and sacred direction for how to bring my âSoul Created Journeysâ to the world in a way that I can best serve.
My prayers were deinitly answered as my dreams were filled with the guidance I was looking for. I woke this morning full of enthusiasm and relief that I am not the one needing to âdoâ. I felt my team of light (guides, angels, spirits - however you want to name them) close. All I need to do is be the vessel. Stay open and out of my own way!
Have a most amazing week.
-Kim
